Radio Frequency Operated Proximity Card Readers require no direct contact between the card and the reader for the system to operate. The Proximity Card Readers generate radio frequency field that resonates on the specially designed wires that are embedded in the card and thus the reader is able to read the data on the card. The Proximity Card Readers have reading range varying from half inch to a few feet. The Radio Frequency Operated Proximity Card Readers are operated on radio frequency which can penetrate across concrete, wood or any other material.
